Are you looking for an opportunity to grow, learn and acquire practical skills?
Derby is a vibrant and culturally diverse city with over 170 different nationalities living here and around 70 different languages spoken. As a church, we want to look like the city we are in and have a vision for being radical missional disciples – followers of Jesus Christ, who are intent on seeing the revival of the church and the transformation of the city.
Playing your part
At the heart of our vision is a desire to train and release ‘radical missional disciples’. Alongside a range of training options, we offer internships as a means of providing an opportunity for a small number of people to learn and be discipled by existing leaders and ministries through being immersed in the life of a dynamic faith-filled community.
Who is it for?
Anyone of any age can apply to join our internship programme. You do not have to be part of Community Church Derby or East Midlands Christian Fellowships to apply.
How much does it cost?
The Internship programme is designed to be as cheap as possible and as such costs just £500. The time commitment will enable you to work part-time to support yourself during the year. This will also give you opportunity to live out your faith in a different environment during the Internship.
Will there be opportunities to travel?
There is much happening in and around Derby and the East Midlands. Depending on your chosen specialism, there may also be opportunities to travel further afield. We want to sow a vision for being involved in God’s mission in the city and beyond and so an overseas trip will form part of the internship (at extra cost to the participant).
Where will I live?
You will need to arrange your own accommodation for the duration of the internship programme. There may be opportunities to live with a family in the church for those who request this.
How flexible is the programme?
The Internship is designed with your growth and development in mind and will be individually tailored to suit your interests.
