Frequently Asked Questions...
What time does church start?
Our Sunday gatherings are at 10.30am and 6:30pm. Doors open 45 minutes before for prayer - you are welcome to join us in the Carsington for prayer and refreshments.
Where is the church?
We are located at The Riverside Centre, Riverside Court, Pride Park, DE24 8HY
What should I wear?
Most people dress casually – but feel free to wear what you like!
Where can I park?
There is limited free parking in Riverside Court, and several pay car parks in the area. Buses and trains are also easily accessible.
What should I expect?
When you come in you will be welcomed by our welcome team. There will be some singing, a short Bible-based talk and a chance to be prayed with if you would like. You are very welcome to just come in and watch what is going on if you would prefer and engage as much as you like.
Do you have any events for newcomers?
You'll be invited to come and say hello to us in the connect area (in the reception), please come and say hi. We run regular welcome events like our monthly 'Newcomers Coffee, to give those who are new a chance to find out more. We also run connect courses a few times a year for those that make Community Church Derby their home.
What happens during a gathering?
Our gatherings are introduced by one of our church leaders and start with a time of celebration and sung worship. This normally lasts 20-25 minutes. All the words are on the screen so you can sing along if you would like to. There is no pressure to do that and you should feel free to engage at your own pace, even if that means not singing at all. Communion is served monthly, we take a regular offering and hold monthly baptisms.
What about my kids?
We have supervised CCD Kids groups for children from birth to school year 6 during our 10.30am gathering as well as CCD Youth for those in school years 7-13. You can register your children before the gathering and our kids teams will be there to answer any questions.
Maybe you would like to get to know others by joining a team, joining others on a walk at the weekend or simply join us for a coffee on a Sunday after our gatherings. There are so many ways to connect here at Riverside and we would love for you to feel at home.
