communitychurch is part of a regional network of churches called East Midlands Christian Fellowships (EMCF).  Motivated by the great commission (Matt 28:18-20) and the great commandment (Matt 23:37-40) EMCF has the following mission statement:

At communitychurch our vision is:

Presence - To know the manifest presence of God as an ever present reality;
Purpose - To fulfill our God-given potential as a large church;
Proclamation - To proclaim a clear, visible and dynamic message to the whole city of Derby.

We aim to do this through the following four core values:

We are a Christ-centered church:
The Church isn't a building, an institution, or an organisation. It's a body given life through relationship with Jesus Christ, made up of people from all walks of life.
"...and He (Jesus) is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church...so that in everything He might have the supremacy." Colossians 1:7-18

We are a community church:
This isn't just a name, but an understanding that the church is made up of people and that together we're a community. The emphasis of communitychurch is that every member is a servant - living for the good of others, rather than just for our own benefit.
"...there should be no division in the body, but that it's parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one is honoured, every part rejoices with it." 1 Corinthians 12:25

We are a charismatic church:
We expectantly see the Holy Spirit throughout the life of our church, as He reveals the Father through Jesus, refreshes us, renews us, comforts us, empowers us, equips us, guides us, captivates us and liberates us!
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses..." Acts 1:8

We are a commissioned church:
communitychurch doesn't exist just for itself, but has a clear mission. We're passionate about reaching out to new people from every nation, and to plant new churches. We expect to be continually sending and supporting people to strengthen (and to start) other churches.
